Tythe Barn is the kind of venue that does most of the work for you.

The building itself is centuries old: timber beams, stone walls, the particular stillness of a space that's been standing long enough to have stopped trying to impress anyone. It has a weight to it that newer venues don't. You feel it as soon as you walk in.

This was a styled editorial shoot, put together by a brilliant team. The flowers were from Honeysuckle Flower Co. The dresses from The Mews Bridal. Hire Love UK on styling. Terre et Lune on the cake. Every detail considered, nothing overdone.

What I was most drawn to, as always, was the light. Late afternoon through those high windows. The way it fell across the table settings and the fabric and the faces. That's the thing about a barn: it holds light differently to any other kind of room.
